Join us Sunday, August 1st for the Second Annual Operation Backpack Ride & Bike Show. This ride is sponsored by the Texas Rangers with the goal of collecting school supplies for the children of Dallas/Fort Worth.
This year the ride will start at the Youth Ballpark in Arlington at 10:00am. The ride will depart for Strokers Dallas at 12:00 noon.
The entry fee for the ride is simply the donation of a backpack with school supplies. The first 75 people to donate $25 to Operation Backpack that morning will have the opportunity to ride their motorcycle around the warning track inside the Major League Ballpark and have their picture taken at home plate.
Once at Strokers Dallas, riders are welcome to enter their bike in the Bike Show, as well as enjoy live music, cold beer, and good company.
The bike show categories will be:
- American Stock
- European Stock
- American Custom
- European Custom
- Vintage
- Scooters
Entry fees:
- Everyone that rides from Arlington to Strokers will be able to enter their bike free.
- For those that do not ride and only want to be in the bike show, a $10 entry fee will apply with all proceeds going to Operation Backpack.
Judging:
- Participants & patrons at Strokers will judge by depositing tickets into canisters in front of each bike.
- Tickets may be purchased at a table that will be set up next to the bike show for $1 each with all proceeds going to Operation Backpack.
- In theory, if someone wanted to buy $20 worth of tickets and put all 20 in the canister for just one bike, that bike would then have 20 votes.
Bike show will be from approximately 12:30pm-3pm with awards at 3:30pm.
